A fine and very rare mid-18th century, c.1760, double Chelsea porcelain scent bottle modeled as two monkeys, their heads as the stoppers, with gold mounts and chains. The smaller, grey monkey sits in a yellow basket strapped to the back of the larger brown monkey, which is holding a flower. There are applied flowers around the top of the basket. The domed base is decorated with painted flowers, including the underside.

Measurements: 2.4in (6cm) high

Condition: Excellent. We were unable to find any issues at all under white or ultraviolet light. However, given the age and delicacy, not to have undergone any restoration would be unusual. However, if there is any, it is extremely well done.
