Code: 673
Dimensions:
An interesting enamel snuff box, with a convex lid and lobed body, the exterior decorated with flower sprays on the lid, front, back, and base and insects on either side, on a white ground. With gilded machine-tooled mounts. It is either French, 19th century, or English, Birmingham or South Staffordshire, 18th century.
What makes us think 18th century English, are the stress crazing, particularly to the interior, that is common to older boxes, and that the lid has been professionally restored (see UV image). However, the lack of wear to the gilded mounts suggest possibly French, 19th century.
Measurements:

There are a few very faint hairlines to the body and hairlines and star crazing to the interior. The mounts are in very good condition.
