Fujii Damascene Co Antique Zogan Cigarette Case

Fujii Damascene Co, a zogan cigarette case, early 20th century, probably Taishō era. Gold inlays in black metal. Intricately decorated in high-carat gold with cartouches of a temple with Mount Fuji in the background on the lid. The reverse with a sea dragon. Each cartouche bordered by mythical birds. Fujii Damascene Co mark to the underside of the lid.

Condition: Lid closes well. Hinge in good order. Case slightly pocket-curved, with associated shallow rippling on lid (temple side). Small patches of rubbing to lower corners of lid. Small spot of rubbing on dragon side.
